Four Royal Navy P2000 vessels have been despatched to the Baltic for a series of exercises and patrols.

HMS Dasher, Express, Puncher and Pursuer have begun a ten-week deployment which starts with their participation in a NATO exercise, the German Navy-led Northern Coasts (NOCO) 2025.

Forming part of the larger Quadriga 2025 exercise series, NOCO 25 will run from September 1-12. The initiative will model realistic threat scenarios on land, sea and in the air.

In addition to the U.K. and the host nation, the other Baltic Sea states — Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Sweden — will all be represented. Joining them will be assets from Belgium, Canada, France the Netherlands, and the USA.

After NOCO 25 the P2000s are then scheduled to participate in exercises organised by the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) alongside Finnish, Latvian and Swedish assets.

Commanding Officer of HMS Dasher Lieutenant Jack Mason commented: “We’re very excited to be deploying back into the Baltic Sea after a well-earned summer leave period having returned only five weeks ago.”

He added: “The Baltic Sea is becoming a bit of a home away from home for the Coastal Forces Squadron as we deploy into the region for the second time this year, this time with some very different strategic objectives.

“We are looking forward to working with both NATO and Joint Expeditionary Force partners as we continue to strengthen our relationships with these nations.”
