The Indonesian Navy has just welcomed KRI Belati, its first hybrid-propulsion warship, into its fleet; her commissioning follows a naming ceremony earlier this month.
The domestically built 62-metre fast attack craft is the navy’s first vessel to use both propellers and waterjets, giving it a top speed of approximately 30 knots.
She is armed with Roketsan’s Atmaca surface-to-surface missiles and another Turkish firm, Havelsan, has supplied the vessel’s Advent combat management system and Fleetstar, its data distribution system.
The warship has been built by the PT Tesco Indomaritim shipyard in Babelan,West Java. Her name translates as “Dagger” and she is also armed with a Leonardo Marlin 40 remotely controlled 40mm cannon.
The commissioning ceremony took place on Friday at the Sealift Command headquarters in North Jakarta.
