With a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Twente, Rachiel joined TNO’s in the Naval- and Offshore Structures department. Leveraging his expertise in simulating materials, structures and systems, Rachiel uses specialized tools to simulate the response of naval platforms to various weapon effects. His work focusses on exploring optimal damage control strategies to restore capability. His studies span both current and conceptual future platforms, allowing him to validate strategies on existing platforms while also providing insight into the impact of reduced manning and increased automation on emerging technologies.
