Phil Game RN
Phil Game took up his current role as Head of Maritime Combat Systems in DE&S in July 2021, leading the portfolio of c.50 projects and in-service support delivery, with c.340 staff and an annual budget of c.£400M. His previous senior delivery roles have been in DE&S as Deputy Director Weapons and as the Team Leader for Maritime Anti-Air Weapons Systems and for the Type 26 Combat System.
His professional command appointments have included the Weapon Engineer Officer and Senior Naval Officer of HMS DUNCAN in-build, Weapon Engineer Officer of HMS WESTMINSTER and Deputy Weapon Engineer Officer of HMS BOXER, a period which included deployments in support of NATO operations in the Former Yugoslavia.
He graduated from RNEC Manadon with BEng(Hons) in 1993, RMCS Shrivenham with an MSc in Guided Weapon Systems in 2001, and Kings College London with an MA in Defence Studies in 2007, as part of the Advanced Command and Staff Course.
He is a Chartered Project Professional, Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Engineering & Technology, alumnus of the Windsor Leadership Trust & Project Leadership Programme and is a Freeman of the City of London. He moved back to South Devon in 2023 and, outside of work, enjoys sailing and skiing when he gets the chance, but mostly coastal walking with his wife (Sian) and cocker spaniel (Lottie).
