MMCM UK Operational Co-ordination Officer (OCO), OCCAR

Ollie was appointed as the UK Operational Co-Ordination Officer in OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation) in March 2024, where he manages the programme interfaces for the UK MoD.

Ollie joined Salvage and Marine Operations in DE&S in 2015, where he was the lead engineer in the procurement team and subsequent operational team for an advanced Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) capability. He gained 8 years of experience on operations by delivering deployed engineering and operational leadership, as a non-uniformed end user, which provided Sea-bed data and analysis for Defence applications.

Utilising his operational experience of maritime equipment, he later joined the Mine Hunting Capability team (MHC). Where he developed the strategy for systems of systems integration alongside the development of Machine Learning for the exploitation of AI within Mine Hunting operations. He supported the standing up for the Maritime Autonomy Centre of Expertise (MASCoE) within DE&S for the wide coherence of Maritime autonomy within Defence and supported the development of MHC Block 2 procurement strategy for the next phase of procurement for the Royal Navy.
