Marc Sennick
Captain Sennick assumed the duties of Chief, First District External Affairs in July, 2023. This position places Captain Sennick as the lead of the First District Commander's Public Affairs and Governmental Affairs programs for the Northeast Regain of the United States. Captain Sennick reported this summer from Coast Guard Sector New York where he was the Deputy Sector Commander and second in command of all Coast Guard missions in the Port of New York and New Jersey.
Captain Sennick has previously served as the Coast Guard Sector Boston Chief of Response and at U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) as the Joint Operations Center Team Chief in Stuttgart, Germany. He served in a succession of positions at Sector New York as the Operational Planner, the Chief of Incident Management and the head of all Coast Guard Response operations in the port. He has also served at units along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts, with assignments in the Caribbean and as an international law enforcement liaison. During his enlisted assignments, he served at Motor Lifeboat Station Chatham, Massachusetts, on board the Coast Guard Cutter DAUNTLESS out of Galveston, Texas and as Special Command Aide for the Eighth Coast Guard District Commander and the Coast Guard’s Chief of Staff.
Upon graduating from Officer Candidate School in 2000, he was assigned to Coast Guard Group Moriches on Long Island, New York. During his tenure he was responsible for the oversight of all Coast Guard search and rescue, law enforcement operations and inter-agency coordination, as well as, provided operational support to New York City during the aftermath of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks.
After Group Moriches, he transferred to the First District Intelligence Staff in Boston, Massachusetts where he began his intelligence training and indoctrination. Next, he took charge of a the multi-agency Field Intelligence Support Team (FIST) in Boston where he was responsible for the fusion of multisource intelligence information and analysis that supported 35 operational Coast Guard commands and multiple local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement entities. Noteworthy during this tour was his role as a founding member of the multi-national Integrated Border Enforcement Team (IBET) Atlantic.
During his assignment as the Chief of Intelligence Operations for the First Coast Guard District he attained a Master Level Intelligence competency and was a key player in the development of the service’s inaugural field intelligence support policies and procedures. He also severed as the First Coast Guard District’s Operational Planner and completed a deployment to Africa in 2012 in support of AFRICOM’s African Maritime Law Enforcement Partnership initiative where he and his team helped host nations develop maritime domain awareness strategies.
Captain Sennick and his family live in Kingfield, Maine. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. Captain Sennick has been married to his wife Jennifer for over 30 years and they have four sons and two grandchildren.
