Keith Beckett CBE
Keith is the Technical Director and Deputy Chief Executive of the MOD’s Submarine Delivery Agency. The SDA is charged with the delivery of the UK’s submarine capability to the Royal Navy, including the strategic deterrent, across the full life cycle, from concept design through to disposal.
Keith’s career has been dedicated to serving in, and supporting, the Royal Navy’s submarine force. Previously he has served as the Chief Strategic Systems Executive and UK Project Officer for the Polaris Sales Agreement. He was the Naval Base Commander at the Clyde Naval Base, spent 3 years working in Washington DC embedded within the US Naval Reactors programme and was Head of the MOD’s Nuclear Propulsion capability. In his early career he was a Marine Engineering specialist on both diesel- and nuclear-powered submarines. Keith also has the privilege of being the current Head of the Royal Corps of Naval Constructors.
Keith is married to Sue, they have four children, and he has recently fulfilled a lifetime ambition to own a boat.
