Jonathan Walton was educated in Edinburgh and at the University of Aberdeen where he gained his law degree. He practised law in the UK, the United Arab Emirates and Australia before joining British Aerospace (now BAE Systems) in 1991.

He held various senior Legal, Contracts and Sales positions with BAE Commercial Aircraft in the UK; BAE’s regional aircraft Joint Venture in Toulouse – AI(R) and with Airbus Industrie Asia in France and China.

In 1999 Jonathan transitioned to the Defence sector of BAE Systems and attended the Royal College of Defence Studies course of that year, based in London.

In 2000, Jonathan joined BAE Systems Group Business Development at the company’s corporate headquarters in Farnborough as Director, UK Marketing and Government Relations.

In 2002, he was appointed EVP, India based in Delhi and in 2003, EVP South Africa based in Johannesburg.

In 2008, Jonathan returned to the UK as Managing Director, Market Development with BAE’s Electronics, Intelligence and Support business, based in Rochester, UK.

In 2009 he was appointed to the management board of BAE’s Integrated System Technologies business, as Business Development Director, based in Frimley.

In 2010 Jonathan joined GE Aviation as Executive Leader for European Military Customer Accounts and UK Government Relations, based in Cheltenham.

In 2018 Jonathan formed a consultancy practice and in 2019 began working with Babcock Marine and Technology as VP Business Development, based in Bristol and London. Jonathan lives in Gloucestershire. He has two daughters and a son, all adults. His interests include various sports, playing various musical instruments, song-writing and painting.
