Jared Wyrick USN
CAPT Wyrick, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2000 with a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering. He received a Master's Degree from The Naval Postgraduate School in 2005.
Following completion of nuclear propulsion program training, he was assigned as a Division Officer onboard USS BREMERTON (SSN 698) home ported in San Diego, CA.
His next sea duty was onboard the USS FLORIDA (SSGN-728)(BLUE) home ported in Kings Bay, GA as Weapons Officer. He completed four deployments, to include the first deployment of an east coast SSGN.
CAPT Wyrick served as Executive Officer onboard the USS ALABAMA (SSBN-731) (BLUE) home ported in Bangor, WA from August 2013 through August 2015.
His final at sea tour was as the Commanding Officer of the USS WEST VIRGINIA (SSBN-736) (BLUE), home ported in Kings Bay, GA. From September 2017 through June 2020, he completed 4 strategic deterrent patrols, and his team was awarded the Battle “E” award.
CAPT Wyrick's shore assignments include: Company Officer at the United States Naval Academy, where, he received a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Human Development through the Naval Postgraduate School; Executive Officer on board the Moored Training Ship (MTS) 626, one of the two Nuclear Prototype Training Units in Charleston SC; A Congressional Staffer for Congressman Randy Forbes (VA-04), Chairman of the Seapower and Projections Forces Subcommittee through the Congressional Fellowship program; An Inspector for the Navy’s Inspector General Office; The Fleet Principle Assistant Program Manager at NAVSEA PMS 425, the Navy’s Submarine Combat and Weapon Control System’s office. In June, 2023, he relieved as Program Executive Officer, Maritime, at U.S. Special Operations Command.
He is married to Hallie Wyrick, a Morgantown native and graduate of West Virginia University, and has three children, Jack, Jane and Miles.
