Irene Gallego Valdellós

Submarine Manoeuvrability Specialist, Navantia

Irene Gallego Valdellós was born in Madrid (Spain) in 1990.

Naval Architect graduated with honours from Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena Spain), holds a Specialist’s Degree in Numerical Simulation in Engineering with ANSYS (Turbulence and Multiphase) by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain) and attended the 2021 Submarine Design & Acquisition Course held in University College London (UK).

Irene joined Navantia in 2014 and has developed as a submarine engineer working on various areas for the S80 project. Currently, she's the S80 Submarine Manoeuvrability Specialist, alongside being the lead engineer for the floating dock in Cartagena Shipyard.

Additionally, she’s been teaching how to sail since 2007 and was a part-time professor for the Master’s Degree in Naval and Ocean Engineering organized by Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (Spain) from 2022 to 2023.
