Gunnar Möller
Since 2005 head of the Maritime Warfare Data Center (MWDC), responsible for managing, processing, analysing and distributing geographic information and data aimed at increasing operational and tactical effectiveness.
Möller has a past in surface warfare and the intelligence service. As a side project, he has since 2003 researched the occurrence and risks of UXO in the Baltic Sea area. The research has contributed to the formation of the Baltic Ordnance Safety Board, with the purpose to make a joint effort between the Navies to gather and share information about Historic Ordnance and prioritize areas to be cleared in the Baltic Sea area in order to enhance maritime safety.
In 2017, Möller was elected as a member of the Royal Swedish Society of Naval Science. He is also the author of the book “Minkriget i Östersjön 1914-1915” (The mine warfare in the
Baltic Sea 1914-1915), and he has also been published in articles and as a co-author in other historical books.
