Fernando Obelleiro, born in Spain 1968. He completed the studies of Electrical Engineering at the University of Vigo (UV) in 1991. That year joined the Dept. of Signal Theory and Communications of the UV. PhD since 1994. Professor since 1996 and Full Professor since 2002. Nowadays he leads the Group of Electromagnetism & Radar. His main scientific achievements are116 articles in journals, 175 contributions to conferences and 6 book chapters. He has supervised 8 doctoral theses. Awarded with the Isidro Parga Pondal Medal 2023, from the Technical Sciences section of the Royal Galician Academy of Sciences. He has also been awarded two international prizes in the field of computational electromagnetics: PRACE AWARD'09 at ISC'2009 and the ITANIUM INNOVATION AWARDS 2009. He has led more than 100 R&D projects with a turnover for UV of more than 18 M€, 9 M€ during the last 5 years. In 2019 creates the spin-off "Electromagnetic 3 Works, S.L. (EM3WORKS)". His research lines are: Computational Electromagnetics, High performance computing (HPC), Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3), simulation, measurement and control of radar and infrared signatures, communications systems, radar and electronic warfare, metamaterials and nanoantennas, cybersecurity and systems 4.0 applied to defense.
