Fleet Safety Trainer, Carnival UK
Trev Trevarthen is a Fleet Safety Trainer with Carnival UK, employed onboard Cunard and P & O_x000d_
cruise ships on a 3-month rotation. He has worked with Carnival since leaving the military in 2014,_x000d_
working on numerous ships in the Carnival Fleet from the biggest, Queen Mary 2, to the smallest,_x000d_
Adonia. He is currently serving onboard the MV Queen Victoria._x000d_
Previous to this he served in the Royal Navy from 1979 – 2014, rising to the rank of Warrant Officer_x000d_
1 st Class. He served on a number of seagoing units including HMS Coventry in 1982 during the_x000d_
Falklands Campaign._x000d_
He was the Executive Warrant Officer on numerous units where he was responsible with the_x000d_
Executive Officer for any Damage Control training for the entire crew. He was awarded the MBE in_x000d_
the late Queens Birthday Honours list in 2010 whilst serving onboard HMS Cornwall as the EWO._x000d_
He was a whole ship NBCDQ and spent numerous times at the DRUI in HMS Excellent honing his_x000d_
skills with the teams. He also spent time at Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST) in Devonport where he_x000d_
was X2._x000d_
Since leaving the Military he continues to be responsible for Damage Control but now on a larger_x000d_
scale with a much smaller team. He has continued to maintain his knowledge by attending a damage_x000d_
control course at Cork Maritime College where he was trained by the Irish Navy. His enthusiasm and_x000d_
training techniques acquired during his time in the RN has benefitted Carnival UK and he runs drills_x000d_
and training to ensure the teams onboard the Cruise ships are fully prepared in the event of a real_x000d_
emergency._x000d_
The experiences and training gained during his 35 years Military Career helps him considerably with_x000d_
his current role.
