Stuart Riches is the Director of Research and Development for Ultra Maritime. With 30 years’ involvement in military sonar and anti-submarine warfare his experience ranges from electronics design and embedded software to developing complex systems and software architectures for large multi-sensor integrated sonar systems. Stuart has been involved in all aspects of the engineering lifecycle and conducted numerous sea trials. Most recently he has led Ultra Maritime’s push for increased autonomy in ASW, including the adoption of artificial intelligence and machine learning from the edge to the remote operations centre.
