Sam has worked for the MCA for the past 11 years, prior to which he had a career in the_x000d_
Royal Navy._x000d_
Sam started his career in the MCA working at the UK’s Joint Rescue Coordination Centre_x000d_
(JRCC) as a Maritime Operations Officer and subsequently Senior Maritime Operations_x000d_
Officer, with the responsibility for the initiation and co-ordination of maritime search and_x000d_
rescue missions._x000d_
Following this Sam specialised in Maritime Security and became the Staff Officer for_x000d_
Specialist Operations managing a team of Liaison Officers at the Joint Maritime Security_x000d_
Centre (JMSC). In this capacity, Sam and his team actively supported cross government_x000d_
activity aimed at combating criminality and hostile activity in the maritime domain both in the_x000d_
UK and internationally where the UK has interests._x000d_
For the last 5 years, Sam has acted as HM Coastguard’s Programme Change Manager,_x000d_
overseeing all aspect of business change related to the MCA’s major aviation programmes,_x000d_
principally the UK’s Second-Generation Search & Rescue Aviation Programme (UKSAR2G).
