Government and Defence Sector Lead, EXA Infrastructure
I served in a specialist unit in the British Army, specialising in communications, where I gained extensive experience operating in complex and dynamic environments that required secure, resilient and high-performance networks. Transitioning from the military into the defence industry was a natural progression, allowing me to apply my expertise to support critical government and defence initiatives. I have previously worked for Vodafone Defence and L3Harris. At EXA Infrastructure, my expertise relates to supporting predominantly NATO governments for their high-capacity connectivity requirements across the US and Europe. All of these government landscapes share similar complexities, including stringent security standards, procurement challenges and evolving operational needs, success in this space requires a deep understanding of the policies, frameworks and networks that drive decision-making. My background has equipped me to adapt to these ever-changing challenges by leveraging strategic relationships, understanding regulatory policies and ensuring that mission-critical infrastructure meets the evolving demands and protection of government and defence agencies. I serve on a critical network infrastructure board under the UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, where I contribute to national resilience strategy and policy development. I work in close coordination with several NATO member states to support the development protection, and resilience of subsea infrastructure. This includes advancing joint capabilities for the detection and prevention of adversary threats, as well as monitoring the activity of the fishing community to ensure maritime domain awareness and safeguard critical underwater assets.
