Ross Barraclough

Ross is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, who started his career with Caterpillar where he had the opportunity to travel the world as part of a global benchmarking exercise. He then moved to Wood Group, ultimately leading their Gas Turbine Component overhaul business in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Prior to joining the RNLI, Ross was a Regional Director for Sulzer, a Swiss engineering firm specialising in large scale and often highly complex rotating equipment projects in all corners of the world. He has an MBA from Warwick Business School, a Masters in Science from Cranfield University, and an Engineering Degree from Strathclyde University.

Since joining the RNLI just over two years ago, Ross has more than proven his capabilities in dealing with a number of challenges in the North & East region, notably the high-profile asset changes at Aldeburgh and Walton & Frinton Lifeboat Stations, and the relocation of Humber Lifeboat Station from Spurn Point to Grimsby. Ross’ leadership style and engineering expertise are driving the RNLI forward into its third century of lifesaving.
