Richard Atack

Richard Atack was appointed Managing Director on 1 June 2025 and prior to this appointment was Head of the Design and Engineering since January 2011 and was responsible for the delivery of design, manufacturing and flight test developments for key military and civil programs and platforms across UK and Ireland.

Previously Atack served in the Royal Navy before beginning a 28 year career, across several roles, within Airbus Helicopters UK Ltd.

Over the years, Atack has played an instrumental role in the development of Airbus Helicopters design and research efforts across a comprehensive range of projects focused mainly on the UK rotary wing industry.

Having graduated in Engineering at University of Newcastle and with a MBA from Oxford Brookes University, Atack has worked in the aviation and helicopter industry throughout his career and has recently been appointed as a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, as well as being recently appointed to the Board of the Oxfordshire RAeS branch.

Richard Atack is married and lives in Oxfordshire and has a keen interest in field sports and game and wildlife conservation.
