Professor Evangelos Boulougouris, CEng, MRINA, MSNAME, is Head of the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering at the University of Strathclyde and Professor of Safety of Marine Operations. His research focuses on ship safety and survivability, maritime decarbonisation, modular ship design, and autonomous vessels, with over 200 publications in the field. He is a member of RINA’s IMO Correspondence Group and contributes strategic advice, dissemination, and stakeholder engagement across academia, industry, and policy.
