Matthew Mitchell, U.S. Coast Guard Retired, has more than 24 years of military and law_x000d_
enforcement experience, including 20 years focused on search-and-rescue (SAR) coordination._x000d_
He has led four U.S. Rescue Coordination Centers (RCCs), developed national-level SAR_x000d_
policies, and managed a team of scientists and operations experts that created the world’s_x000d_
leading search planning software. Matthew has initiatives in both the non-profit and private_x000d_
sectors aimed at enhancing the global SAR system. He serves as the Director of Search and_x000d_
Rescue for the U.S. and Asia Pacific regions at Zelim Ltd., which employs the scientific_x000d_
principles of search theory in artificial intelligence detection and classification algorithms._x000d_
Additionally, he is the founding President and CEO of the International Association of SAR_x000d_
Coordinators (IASARC), a charity dedicated to advancing the profession of SAR coordination.
