Lieutenant Commander Filipe Côrte-Real

Lieutenant-Commander Torres Côrte-Real joined the Portuguese Naval Academy in 2007 and graduated in 2013 with a master’s degree in Naval Military Sciences. He began his career as a Platoon Commander in a Marine Battalion and has since held several key positions within the Portuguese Marine Corps, including Company Executive Officer, Landing Craft Group Commander, Speed Boat Group Commander, Special Operations Maritime Task Unit Commander and Special Operations Ops Officer. He currently serves as Operational Logistics Department Head for the Portuguese Marine Corps.

Internationally, he has participated in several operations and missions, including NATO’s Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan, as part of a Special Operations Advisory Team; and multiple deployments to Lithuania within NATO’s Assurance Measures.

His military education includes specialized training in Amphibious Operations, Medical Planning and Special Operations, both in Portugal and abroad.
