Personal Profile

Lt Col Quinn read Product Design at Kingston-Upon-Thames before commissioning in the Royal Marines in 2005. As a Captain he deployed on operations to Afghanistan, Africa and the Middle East followed by Regimental Duties. On promotion to Major he spent time on the Staff with the USMC 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade and Headquarters 3 Commando Brigade before assuming command of Alpha Company, 40 Commando, in 2017 where he deployed to the Caribbean on disaster relief operations.

In 2018 he was appointed to the Ministry of Defence as Military Assistant to the Assistant Chief of Defence Staff (Operations) followed by a year working on the Integrated Defence and Security Review. He was then attached to the USMC for two years working on Capability Development and attending the School of Advanced Warfighting. He returned to the UK in 2022 as Chief of Staff, 3 Commando Brigade, before assuming command of 42 Commando in August 2024.
