José Luis Sáez Hernández, from Cartagena (Murcia), is the Submarine Business Development Manager at the Submarine Business (Cartagena’s Shipyard) in the Shipbuilding division of Navantia. He is responsible for leading business future opportunities in the export market.

He first joined Navantia in 2008. Since then, he has had different positions in Systems division such as technical manager in the development of the Platform Simulator (SIMPLA) and the Tactical Simulator, as well as participating in the design of the Integrated Platform Management Systems for the S-80.

In 2016, he moved to the Engineering department at Cartagena shipyard (Submarine Business) being responsible of ship control systems and leading “Systems Integration” studies also for S-80 class submarine.

In 2020, he is promoted to Engineering Project Manager for S-80 leading this position until becoming Submarine Business Development Manager in January 2024.

He has a MSc in Naval Architecture from Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena and has completed the Executive Project Management Master from Universidad de Valencia.
