Idan Hazan

Co-Founder & CPO, Skana Robotics

Personal Profile

Idan Hazan is a leading expert in unmanned maritime systems with more than 16 years of experience in designing, engineering, and deploying advanced robotic platforms for demanding naval and defense missions. With deep roots in marine robotics and complex system integration, he brings a highly technical, engineering-first perspective to the future of maritime autonomy.

For five years, Idan worked alongside Idan Levy to develop the autonomous and robotics capabilities of Navy Special Operations. In this role, he led the architectural design, engineering development, and maritime adaptation of mission-critical platforms, experience that shaped his understanding of how unmanned systems must perform under real operational constraints and in high-risk environments. This period cemented his reputation as a specialist in translating mission needs into reliable, field-ready capabilities.

Idan’s broader career spans the full lifecycle of unmanned maritime solutions, from conceptual design and prototyping through sea trials, integration, and deployment. His expertise covers vessel architecture, autonomy integration, sensor fusion, and endurance-driven system design, with a consistent emphasis on scalability, modularity, and operational clarity.

As Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer of Skana Robotics, Idan leads the design and development of the company’s autonomous vessel families: surface, sub-surface, and amphibious. He drives the product vision around mass-production readiness, adaptability, and seamless coordination in hybrid fleet operations. Under his leadership, each platform is engineered not as a standalone asset, but as part of a cohesive operational ecosystem that supports coordinated planning, deployment, and mission execution.
