Henrik Jonsson

Henrik Jonsson is the Deputy Director General of the Swedish Coast Guard since September 2024. Henrik’s background is a long and solid experience of leadership and management within the maritime response sector. He started his career as a naval officer in 1999, where he advanced to the rank of Commander (Kommendörkapten) and Head of the Technical Office of the ships and vessels at the Naval Base in Karlskrona. He then moved on to the Swedish Coast Guard in 2016 as Head of the Technical Department. Henrik continued his career within the Swedish Coast Guard as the Shipping Manager, Technical Director and IT Director before moving on to his current position as Deputy Director General. Throughout his working life, Henrik has been responsible for successful cooperation between maritime authorities, which also is a focus and priority in his current position. In 2024 Henrik Jonsson was elected into the Royal Society of Naval Sciences (Kungliga Örlogsmannasällskapet). When possible Henrik enjoys training and exercise and he has taken part in (and completed) several Ironman competitions.
