Dr. Helge Weydahl is a principal scientist at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment, specializing in lithium-ion battery safety, battery degradation and fuel cell systems. His work focuses on advancing energy storage technologies for the Norwegian Armed
Forces. He has developed air independent fuel cell systems for autonomous underwater vehicles and telecommunication satellites. He has a master’s degree in physics and a PhD on fuel cell dynamics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
Dr. Weydahl chairs the Norwegian forum for battery safety, that brings together industry, government and research institutions to address battery related incidents and challenges. He is frequently invited as speaker to seminars within the topic of battery safety.
