Håvar is a dynamic maritime technology and defence professional dedicated to accelerating the global adoption of autonomous systems. In his role at Maritime Robotics, he drives strategic initiatives that enable the deployment of advanced unmanned surface vessels (USVs) and the company’s Autonomous Navigation System (ANS) into new markets and mission environments. He is educated as a Naval Architect from Norwegian University of Science and Technology, NTNU and graduated from Officer Training in Naval Warfare at the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy and Staff Officer Qualification from Norwegian Armed Forces Staff College. Håvar holds a Master of Military and Defence Studies from Norwegian Defence University College. With comprehensive expertise in military planning and operations, Håvar brings deep operational insight into how autonomous maritime capabilities can support real-world mission needs. His background ensures a strong understanding of defence requirements, risk, and mission success criteria. Håvar has coordinated and executed combined joint military operations, gaining a thorough understanding of multi-domain command-and-control. With his experience operating advanced military technology, specializing in subsea operations and seabed warfare he is uniquely positioned to guide the evolution of Maritime Robotics’ solutions for both commercial and defence customers. Håvar has exercised leadership for nearly three decades, innovating teams and cultivating strong organizational cultures with a focus on safety, security, and adaptability in rapidly changing environments. His approach is shaped by the ability to embrace change, build sustainability, and continuously develop new skills. At Maritime Robotics, Håvar translates this experience into action—strengthening defence collaboration, international expansion, and capability upgrades across platforms and sea drones.
