Dr Jens Mattson

Dr Jens G Mattsson is the Director General of the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI). He is the Swedish representative to NATO Science & Technology Board as well as the Research and Technology Board at the European Defence Agency (EDA). He is a member of Swedish Governments’ Defence innovation board and member of the board of Uppsala University. He has a BSc in Chemistry and an MSc in Biotechnology from Uppsala University, a PhD in Microbiology from SLU and is an associate professor. He is an elected fellow of The Royal Swedish Academy of War Science, The Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry as well as the Linnean Society of London. FOI is a government agency conducting world-renowned research within the fields of defence and security, with a staff of more than 1600 people.
