Commodore (ret’d) Steve Pearson

Commodore (Retired) Steve Pearson spent 38 years in the Royal Navy joining the Service straight from school.

Initially an Aviator in AEW, he moved into the General Service Warfare Branch serving in various ships rising to Command HMS NEWCASTLE and served as Commander in HMS ARK ROYAL. As a Captain he served in NATO leading the Counter IED Task Force and the successful integration of Croatia and Albania to the Alliance. He returned to the RN as the Flotilla Captain in Portsmouth responsible for Aircraft Carriers, Destroyers, Frigates, and the Personnel Support Group – totalling 15% of Navy personnel.

Promoted to Commodore, he led the Defence Maritime Regulator delivering the Maritime Regulation Set. On leaving the Service, Steve joined Safeguard Engineering Ltd as a Principal Consultant for Safety and Environmental Protection, continuing to deliver support

and assurance across the Marine sector.
