Commander Tomas Anderson

Commander senior grade Tomas Albert Eugen Andersen has served as Senior Staff Officer at the Norwegian Defence Staff since August 2021, working primarily with exercises and plans. Commander Andersen started his service in the Coast Artillery in 1988 and served 11 years at the platoon and company level. He has been an instructor and leader for Coastal Ranger training school, instructor at the Norwegian Navy Tactics School, served on permanent Norwegian Navy Task Group Staff and served as the Head of the N7 Exercise Planning in the Norwegian Navy. He has experience from several multinational amphibious and maritime staffs, as well as from the ISAF mission in Afghanistan. He is a graduate from the Coast Artillery NCO School (1989), the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy (1992), the US Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School (2000) and the Norwegian Command and Staff College (2010).
