Commander Benoit Malevergne was born in 1969. He graduated from the French naval_x000d_
academy in 1992 and from “ENSTA” Graduate School of engineering in Paris in 1999._x000d_

He served, acting in Anti-submarine warfare field, onboard destroyers, frigates and mine_x000d_
hunters, in Brest and Toulon. He was executive officer on an hydrographic ship and on a_x000d_
command and supply ship. He was in command of the FS “THETIS”, a command and support_x000d_
mine warfare ship._x000d_

Ashore, Commander Malevergne served as research manager in the Navy operational_x000d_
research department and as instructor at the French naval academy. He was Assistant to the_x000d_
head of the planning depart.ment of the Navy Staff and then he joined the European_x000d_
External Action Service as a Capability development officer within the EU military Staff in_x000d_
Brussels._x000d_

In 2016, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Centre of Expertise for Naval Programs,_x000d_
before joining in 2017 the Navy Fleet Support Service as Deputy Technical Manager in_x000d_
Toulon. From 2019 to 2022, he was head of GNSS branch in the French Space Command._x000d_
He currently serves in the Commission for Programs and Trials as Rapporteur for the_x000d_
Maritime Safety Committee, in charge of naval ship seaworthiness._x000d_

Commander Malevergne is married to Estelle. They have three boys.
