Mr. Anthony Constable is the United States Representative at the Submarine Design Agency (SDA) for SSN AUKUS. He was assigned to the SDA team in 2023 shortly after the announcement of the AUKUS Pillar I “Optimal Pathway” announcement supporting Australia’s acquisition of sovereign, conventionally armed, nuclear-powered, submarines. In his role, Mr. Constable manages and facilitates the integration of U.S. technology into the SSN AUKUS which will be built in both the United Kingdom and Australia. Additionally, he provides submarine design and management expertise to the SDA SSN AUKUS enterprise.

Mr. Constable has over 20 years of submarine research, design, and acquisition experience across multiple U.S. Submarine Programs serving as a Sea Trials Lead, a Research and Development Manager, and most recently as a Ship Design Manager for the U.S. Navy’s VIRGINIA Class attack submarine program office. From 2021 to 2023, he served as the Science Advisor to Commander United States Sixth Fleet and Commander Naval Forces Europe-Africa in Naples, Italy where he led experimentation across NATO fleet exercises.

Mr. Constable received his bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Webb Institute and his master’s degree in System Engineering Management from the Naval Post Graduate School.
