Personal Profile

Andrew Jones is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects. He is currently Chief Engineer with Helsing UK Maritime working on the Atlantic Net project, bringing deep defence acquisition expertise to the intersection of maritime engineering and software-defined capability. Prior to this, Andrew served as Chief Engineer across a number of major maritime programmes within the MOD’s Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) Gateway directorate, leading the MRSS engineering team and supporting the FADS and MHC OSV projects. A Naval Architect by background, he has contributed to some of the Royal Navy’s most significant surface ship programmes, including the Type 45 Destroyer and the Type 26 and Type 31 Frigate programmes. Andrew will be speaking on the emerging potential of software-defined Anti-Submarine Warfare and what it means for the future of maritime operations.
