Royal Navy helicopter crews set to be embarked on the frigate HNoMS Roald Amundsen when she joins the U.K.’s Carrier Strike Group (CSG) on its imminent Indo-Pacific mission have been training with their Norwegian colleagues.

Fliers and ground crew from 815 Naval Air Squadron (NAS) and their Wildcat helicopter will spend an extended spell on the Norwegian warship when she joins Britain’s flagship HMS Prince of Wales and the rest of the CSG on their journey to Japan.

As per a recent Royal Navy press statement, the flight has been familiarising themselves with the equipment and practices of their NATO ally alongside the frigate’s sister ship Otto Sverdrup on Exercise Tamber Shield 2025 in the waters around Bergen.

Two Wildcat flights will support HNoMS Amundsen while it accompanies the CSG; a second group of sailors from 815 NAS is due to replace their colleagues in the late summer.
