Raytheon Gives U.S. Critical New Anti-Air Edge Over China

Recently, the U.S. Navy announced that it had successfully deployed the Aim -174B missile. The missile will be a critical part of the military’s arsenal as it refocuses its efforts on fighting powers like China. 

China has a formidable air defence network that will prove to be tremendously dangerous to any American or allied planes unfortunate enough to stray close enough to the island of Taiwan. Previously, pilots flying air defence missions had a maximum range of 150 kilometres with the AIM-120 missile.
