Goodwill Abounds At Royal Navy Admiralty Carol Service
There was plenty of seasonal goodwill at this year's Royal Navy Admiralty Carol Service in London — and a large contingent of Navy Leaders staff were delighted to be among those speading a little festive cheer.
The traditional Christmas lessons and carols were enjoyed by all who attended last week's service at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, including the First Sea Lord, Admiral Sir Ben Key KCB CBE ADC, and members of the Navy Board.
After the service the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) hosted its annual evening reception in the Crypt; this year's reception was sponsored by Navy Leaders as part of its ongoing partnership with the charity. The event, also sponsored by Oaklin, served to thank the RNRMC’s supporters and friends for their continued commitment.
Speaking about its continued partnership with RNRMC, Nathan Martin, CEO & Founder of Defence Leaders, commented: “At Defence Leaders, we are proud to support the Admiralty Carol Service and the vital work of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.
"This sponsorship reflects our ongoing commitment to recognising and supporting both serving personnel and veterans who have dedicated themselves to our country. It’s an honour to contribute to such a meaningful event alongside an organisation that makes such a difference in the lives of those who serve.”
And Oaklin Partner, Dominic Hurndall, said: “We are incredibly proud of our partnership with the RNRMC. It’s a chance for us to stay connected to the Royal Navy and to support the incredibly important work the charity does, particularly in the festive period where the need among those who are struggling is most acutely felt.”
The Admiralty Carol Service traditionally serves as the first event of the festive season for the wider naval family, including the lighting of the first Advent candle. Musical accompaniment was provided by the brass quintet from the Band of HM Royal Marines Portsmouth and the Chapel Choir of the Royal Hospital School.
Lessons were read by Amanda Martin, MP for Portsmouth North, Andrew Jameson OBE, CEO of RNRMC, and Dominic Hurndall. Able Seaman Shaneika McLean from HMS Queen Elizabeth and Royal Marine of the Year 2024, Corporal Ryan Brennan from 45 Commando read on behalf of the Royal Navy.
