Damen Group subsidiary Damen Shipyards Cape Town has supplied a sixth FCS 3307 patrol ship to Nigerian security firm Homeland Integrated Offshore Services Ltd.

The 34-metre vessel, chartered to an international energy firm, is the tenth ship supplied to Homeland by Damen. The FCS 3307 Patrol can accommodate up to 14 armed personnel.

As per a recent company press statement, like its five sister ships, Guardian 6’s role will be to provide security and protection to workers of oil firms based in the Gulf of Guinea, deterring piracy. It will also carry out deliveries and crew transfer duties.

The recently delivered vessel, which has a top speed of 30 knots, boasts a night-vision camera and reinforced armour in the wheelhouse and messroom offering enhanced ballistic protection. It also carries a fast rescue craft.

When the boat was ordered last year, Damen Regional Director, Africa Harm Blaauw said Homeland was “a very important client” and added: “We are looking forward to working together on a further expansion of the Homeland fleet and presence in the Nigerian maritime sector.”
