Anduril Bags $642m Deal To Supply Counter-Drone Tech To US Marines
)
American defence technology firm Anduril has won a $642 million, ten-year contract to provide anti-drone equipment to the U.S. Marine Corps.
As per a recent company press statement, the firm has been awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to deliver, install, and sustain Installation-Counter small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (I-CsUAS).
Using Lattice, Anduril’s bespoke software platform, the system uses AI to autonomously detect, track, identify, and neutralize aerial threats. Anduril claimed the system enables “human operators to rapidly make critical decisions with minimal manpower.”
It added: “Anduril’s solution integrates multiple sensors and effectors into an easy-to-use, shared command and control (C2) interface and uses an open architecture to enable rapid iteration and system upgrades, providing the U.S. Marine Corps with the most advanced capabilities to outpace evolving threats over the ten-year period of performance.”
In November last year the company also won a separate $200 million deal to develop and deliver a CUAS Engagement System for the Corps’ new Marine Air Defense Integrated System (MADIS).
