Anduril has agreed with the Australian government to speed up the production of the autonomous undersea vehicle known as the Ghost Shark. Ghost Sharks are set to carry out long-range intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and strike missions throughout the Indo-Pacific.

The deal will see Anduril and Australia split a $40 million investment in building infrastructure in Australia to get the Ghost Shark into production. Anduril will also build a manufacturing plant in Australia to produce vessels for the Royal Australian Navy and foreign partners.

Speaking of the deal, head of the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator, Professor Emily Hilder said “The co-funded early works contract between Anduril Australia and Defence will accelerate production readiness of the Ghost Shark program as well as scale the Australian supply chain at an unprecedented pace.” [Australian Government]
